COVID-19 June 13th Update
/Shoreline,
After 13 Sundays apart, we’re excited to announce that we plan to resume in-person worship this Sunday, June 14 at 10am!
We do not yet have access to the Holiday Inn ballroom so we will meet outdoors at the Leach’s house. If you do not already have the address, please email info@shorelinecbchurch.com for directions.
How To Participate
Parking: Parking spaces will be on the left-hand side of the driveway.
Transit: When you leave your vehicle please head for the rear of the house, together with anyone you came with, while maintaining 6 feet of separation between yourself and other members of the congregation.
Seating: We will worship in the backyard. When you arrive you will see large circles painted on the grass. These are designed to promote a safe physical distance in accordance with health officials’ guidance. Please choose one of these circles and remain there for the duration of the service.
Children: Since social distancing will be very difficult for our youngsters we will not have Shoreline Kids children’s programming. Instead:
Children will remain in their family’s circle throughout the service.
We will be giving lots of grace to families with respect to noise and various disruptions. We’re happy to worship with you and do not mind a ruckus!
If your child needs to roam please take them behind the last row of circles so they can release their energy and still maintain physical distance.
Shoreline Kids will email a discussion guide to parents later this week to help you instruct your children on how to participate.
What to Bring
Folding Chairs
Sunscreen
Snacks & Water
Activities for Children
Sun Shades: You are welcome to bring a sun shade such as a beach umbrella. If you plan on setting up a sun shade, please select a circle towards the rear of the seating area so you do not obstruct other people’s views.
Fellowship Guidelines
It will be a wonderful thing to see our congregation in person again. We are certain that, like on any normal Sunday, many of you will want to remain afterwards and catch up with your church family.
In order to put others’ interests before our own, please follow these guidelines:
At the conclusion of our worship service, please stay seated.
We will announce that those who plan to depart may do so at that time.
After those members of the congregation depart, please feel free to spend time in fellowship.
While you converse please observe the kinds of physical protections we have grown accustomed to: 6 feet of distance or masks.
If You Can’t Attend
Please do not attend if you are sick, if you suspect you are sick, or if a doctor has instructed you not to gather.
Further, if you feel that you ought not attend a group gathering right now because you have additional risk factors, will be caring for someone at risk, or do not yet feel safe in a worship gathering, please do not feel pressure to attend.
If you are not in attendance this Sunday you won’t be left out! We plan to continue live streaming our worship for the foreseeable future for all those who cannot participate in person.
Inclement Weather
The current forecast expects a partly cloudy morning and then a chance of showers on Sunday afternoon. If the weather turns we will notify you Saturday evening (via email, Facebook, and our website) that the outdoor gathering is canceled.
If we cancel the outdoor gathering we will return to the streaming format we’ve grown accustomed to throughout the shutdown. We will also let you know which Shoreline homes are hosting in-person “watch parties” so you can worship together with the livestream in health-officials’ recommended group sizes
In Christ,
The Shoreline Elders
Dave, Jordan, Matt & Mike
