COVID-19 April 7 Update
/Shoreline,
Here’s an update for everything going on at Shoreline for Holy Week!
Community Groups
Now, perhaps more than ever, Shoreline’s community groups are critical to the life of our church. These groups are one of the best ways for you to serve and be served by your church family, maintain spiritual friendships, and grow as a disciple of Christ throughout the coronavirus quarantine.
Our community groups are still meeting virtually and if you're not yet part of one of our groups, contact us to join one!
Holy Week
This past Sunday marked the Sunday before Easter, often called Palm Sunday, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem as her king. Here are some
Palm Sunday: Pastor Dave preached the Triumphal Entry in Matthew 21:1-17 on Nov 10th. We hope you are blessed by hearing that sermon again on the Matthew sermon series page.
Holy Week Devotional: Consider joining other members of Shoreline in this Holy Week Bible reading plan.
Resurrection Eggs: This Sunday the Shoreline Kids lesson will include props to tell the Easter story. See Miss Allison explain them here. Shoreline kids would like to deliver these to each home that would like to participate. If you haven’t already signed up for a special delivery please click here!
Good Friday: Friday evening we will consider the cross of Christ together as a church family. Watch your inbox for timing and streaming info.
Easter Sunday: This Sunday we are planning a larger live stream than we have had these past three weeks. This will include streams from more than one Shoreline household! To make that work we will be using Zoom rather than YouTube Live to stream the service. Stay tuned for more details!
Randy Matthews
For those who haven’t met Randy, he serves the global church by traveling to communities that don’t have formal pastoral training to bring the training to them.
Randy returned safely from Myanmar before quarantine measures prevented travel, but has had to cancel his April trip. As he waits to see when he can travel again he is developing new plans and coaching leaders remotely.
Randy has asked for prayer in these areas:
Effectiveness in his virtual coaching - The communities he serves often have limited access to the technology that support remote training.
Wise planning for future ministry.
That the Lord would bring a swift end to this pandemic so his gospel work can continue.
Check out this document with Randy’s full list of prayer requests for each people group he serves.
Join Shoreline in Song and Prayer
If you miss lifting your voice in praise along with your brothers and sisters in Christ, warm your heart with the catalogue of songs Shoreline sings together when we gather for worship: The Songs We Sing.
And we've also put together a playlist of songs to help you worship through uncertainty and trials called Worship Through the Night.
Join the rest of your church family in lifting these prayer requests (prayed over at this past Saturday’s men’s prayer meeting) to the Lord.
Giving
For those who normally give tithes and offerings in person on Sundays, there are digital and mail-in options for giving you can check out on the Shoreline website.
In Christ,
The Shoreline Elders
(Dave, Jordan, Matt & Mike)
