COVID Update - May 2021

Shoreline,

As you have likely heard the state has lifted the mask mandate for fully vaccinated people and eliminated the need for social distancing in indoor gatherings. First, let us praise the Lord for this wonderful development and cultivate thanksgiving for those who have worked to stem the tide of the virus and bring us a vaccine.

Here is some quick information regarding Shoreline’s plans.
If you have further questions, please email info@shorelinecbchurch.com.

Social Distancing

Beginning May 19 the state government will no longer require social distancing in indoor gatherings. We will continue to space out our seating until we re-launch Shoreline Kids. (see below)

Masks

We plan to follow the state requirements on masking. Here are some common questions you might be asking:

If I’m fully vaccinated, can I worship without a mask at Shoreline?
Yes. Beginning Sunday, May 23, you can attend and participate in worship unmasked if you have been fully vaccinated.

Will Shoreline be checking vaccination cards?
We will not be checking vaccine cards but please abide by the state requirements and continue wearing a mask if you have not yet been fully vaccinated. This is both in obedience to Romans 13:1-7 and our duty of love towards those who cannot be vaccinated due to age or other restrictions.

Will children still have to wear masks?
Yes. Shoreline will continue following the state requirements, which still require all who have not been fully vaccinated, including children, to wear masks while indoors.

Will someone ask me why I’m still wearing a mask?
No. There are several reasons you may still want to wear a mask, even if you are fully vaccinated. Shoreline’s elders and deacons will not question you regarding your decision, and will encourage an environment of Christian freedom where your choice in this matter is not scrutinized.

Will we continue live streaming?
Yes, we will keep broadcasting on Sunday mornings. If you are unable to participate with us in person, please continue to join us online.

Shoreline Kids

Until now we have not been able to host Shoreline Kids because of the 6ft we have needed to keep in our seating plan. We expected that this requirement would eventually be lifted, so over the winter we pre-planned the steps for re-launching Shoreline Kids. Last month, when the state announced that social distancing would no longer be required after May 19, the Shoreline Kids leadership team began meeting to start the re-launch.

We will not be fully ready to re-launch Shoreline Kids on May 23rd, but stay tuned for announcements about our timeline and how you can help!
