Who Is Jesus?
What can we know about Jesus?
What did he teach?
What is his message for today? And for you?
Here are 7 things Jesus said about himself:
Jesus said he came on a rescue mission.
"The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." Luke 19:10
Jesus said he came to die on a cross and rise again.
"See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day."
Matthew 20:18–19
Jesus said he is gentle and kind.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28–30
Jesus said he is the true and final source of our satisfaction.
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst." John 6:35-36
Jesus said he can give you everlasting life.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me will live even if he dies" John 11:25
Jesus said that you can receive this life through him by faith.
"God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."
John 3:16–17
Jesus said that he is the only way to God.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me." John 14:6
Who Is Jesus?
Two thousand years ago in Israel a child was born (in some incredible circumstances!) who changed the world.
He never attended college, or wrote a book, or even left the boundaries of Israel. But today he has more than a billion followers around the world.
